HighSpeedAir, Inc., a family-owned business based in Dublin, Ohio, has created Central Ohio’s largest wireless hot zone in Dublin with the launch of its citywide Wi-Fi coverage network.
HighSpeedAir employs the latest in Cisco technology to provide mobility, making it possible for residents, businesses and government employees of Dublin to obtain high-speed access to the Internet throughout the city.
The primary goals of this system are to enhance public safety and improve the city's operational efficiencies, while also offering a valuable broadband service option to the community.
The City of Dublin is pleased that residents have another choice in connectivity through the City’s partnership with HighSpeedAir,” said Dublin Deputy City Manager Dana McDaniel.
"The Dublin Wi-Fi network also will help the city be more efficient in its own municipal operations. Wi-Fi is one of many broadband-related initiatives that help us achieve recognition such as the Intelligent Community Forum’s designation of Dublin as one of the Top Seven Intelligent Communities around the world."
One area of increased efficiency for the City of Dublin includes almost instantaneous information dissemination for police, who can also file field reports from cruisers without returning to the Justice Center. It also allows the police to have improved communications in mobile command units during emergencies.
Citywide service also provides one more carrot to entice businesses to consider Dublin for their headquarters. Citywide wireless coverage shows businesses that Dublin is technologically advanced and focused on connectivity.
The technology also will benefit large-scale events such as the Memorial Tournament and the Dublin Irish Festival.
HighSpeedAir’s presence in Dublin will provide Internet access to all types of wireless devices, including laptops, IPhone, IPad, IPod Touch, Blackberry, Droid and many others. Signal-boosting devices for homes and businesses are available, which will improve the speed and quality of access to the network at a low cost.
HighSpeedAir’s gateway, managed by ProntoNetworks, provides an automated, secure payment platform for a range of service plans, including the Bronze Plan, a basic monthly subscription for $19.95.
