The 2012 LOGMAN Conference featured educational sessions on ethics, meeting facilitation, and civic engagement.  

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • ICMA's West Coast Regional Director, Kevin Duggan, opened the conference Friday morning with a presentation titled "15 Thoughts on Ethics and Integrity."  
  • The Friday morning program continued with an ICMA University Workshop:  Factilitation - A Skill to Run a Meeting or the Platform for Leadership?  Brian Bosshardt helped participants discover how to become facilitators of learning, not just presenters of informaton.
  • Networking reception and dinner at the Edgewood Tahoe.
  • Saturday morning session:  Online Civic Engagement - Case Studies, Pitfalls, and Best Practices. Robert Vogel and Mike Cohen from Peak Democracy provided information on how local governments are using online public comment forums to dialogue with their constituents in ways that are civil, legal and insightful as well as easy-to-deploy and inexpensive.
