Through projects with the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), the U.S. EPA, and others, ICMA provides technical assistance and knowledge resources to the small towns and rural communities that are engaged in regional sustainability planning.

Now in its tenth year, the Voluntary Credentialing Program recognizes over 1,200 ICMA Credentialed Managers and Candidates, 172 of whom have been credentialed since 2002.

ICMA is dedicated to encouraging women in the local government profession as they advance toward their fullest potential in an often male-dominated work environment. To that end, events at the ICMA Annual Conference this year have been specifically designed to support these female leaders at the core of better communities.
