The next CIO must be proactive rather than reactive, continually pursuing better, smarter ways for the City to serve its employees and residents. In terms of specific skills, the individual will have technical and operational competencies in cybersecurity expertise, AI and emerging tech literacy, a systems integration mindset, process optimization, and vendor and contract management. The position requires thorough knowledge of business process reengineering, expertise in budget management, and leading cross-functional teams. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field with 15–19 years of experience; a master’s degree or higher with 9–12 years of experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range is $138,688 to $201,571. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Benefits are excellent.
