The City of San Fernando is seeking a dynamic and results driven Economic Development Manager to oversee complex planning, program management, and the development of commercial, residential, and public improvement projects. The position provides strategic advice and leadership to the City Manager and City Council in developing short- and long-term plans that support the City’s growth, job creation, and quality-of-life goals. The role requires significant independent decision-making and will include supervising support staff while reporting to the City Manager.
RETIREMENT: PERS 2% @ 55 for classic members, 2% @ 62 for PEPRA members.
Both integrated with Social Security. City pays a portion of employee’s share of PERS for Classic members only.

City pays for Long Term Disability Insurance and
$50,000 term/AD&D Life Insurance policy for employee. Additional voluntary purchase is available with no medical questions asked.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT: Program available.
ANNUAL LEAVE: 160-240 hours per year (depending on length of service).
MANAGEMENT LEAVE: 120 hours per year prorated first year).
HOLIDAYS: 13 days per year.
TECHNOLOGY STIPEND: $125 per month.
BILINGUAL BONUS: $100 per month upon passing Bilingual exam.
WELLNESS REIMBURSEMENT: $400 per fiscal year for certain expenses.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT: Up to $3,000 per year for approved courses.
EDUCATION INCENTIVE: 4% above base salary for Master’s Degree or higher in related field.
PAID PARENTAL LEAVE: Up to 12 weeks (480 hours) of 100% paid time off for pregnancy disability and/or time to bond with new child during approved leave under FMLA and/or CFRA.
