About the Department

The overall mission of the Finance Department is to help ensure the City remains fiscally stable, provide sound business advice to the City Council, and maintain all required financial reporting and related legal obligations for the City of Rancho Cucamonga. The Finance Team accomplishes this through the City’s investment policy, implementation of leading practices and best practices in financial management, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing clear and complete financial information to decision-makers and stakeholders. Five divisions in the Finance Department work together to accomplish the purposes noted above: Accounting and Financial Reporting; Budget Management; Procurement; Revenue Management; and Special Districts.

While it is true that the Finance Department is charged with a weighty responsibility, our team has a great time together working in support of our mission. We foster a collaborative team environment and are supportive of one another throughout all the challenges each day brings. The Team takes time to celebrate achievements (and birthdays), and we actively pursue activities to ensure that we remain a close-knit group. We are looking for that next outstanding individual with next level skills, a strong work ethic, and strong principles to lead our team to help us continually improve what we do through innovative and collaborative efforts.
