Village Manager

Village of Pinehurst, NC

The Village is seeking an innovative, high energy leader with strong interpersonal skills who will be active and visible in the community and accessible and responsive to citizens, who can assist in preserving the best of the historic and unique character of this internationally known residential resort community while coordinating careful consideration of attractive and compatible proposed development, with a continued focus on sound financial management.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Land Use Planning, Finance, or another relevant field; a master’s degree is preferred. Additionally, the candidate must have at least five (5) years of leadership experience as a City or County Manager, Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or Department Head in local governments of similar size and characteristics, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in North Carolina municipal government, or in communities comparable to Pinehurst, is a plus.
The successful candidate also should have considerable experience with and thorough knowledge of budget development and administration; land use planning, zoning and development; capital improvement planning and financing; community and media relations; human resources administration; and organizational change, strategic planning and implementation.
