We are seeking an energetic and dedicated professional to join our team of 75 full-time staff. With the recent retirement of our Superintendent of Business, we are actively searching for an individual to fill this crucial role, reporting directly to the Director of Finance (the business department head). Function: The Superintendent of Business helps oversee the day-to-day operation of the District’s business department. They will help coordinate business department operations, including accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable, budgeting, payroll, reconciliations, financial statement reporting, and the annual audit.

Supervision Received: The Superintendent of Business functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration (Department Head).

Supervision Exercised: As the second in charge of the business department, the Superintendent of Business will supervise three employees: Cash Control Associate, Disbursement Associate, and Billing Associate.

Major Responsibilities

- Act as liaison for the District with the auditing firm.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

- Monitor membership/participation information as required.

- Ensure accurate processing of all electronic billing functions.

- Assist the Director of Finance and Administration with the budget process.

- Process monthly bank reconciliations.

- Monitor the District’s cash and investments.

- Prepare monthly journal entries as needed.

- Prepare monthly board reports and other documentation as required.

- Help improve business and district operations by developing new procedures.

Experience: 5-7 years of accounting or related field experience and 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Experience with District software of RecTrac and BSA is desirable.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. CPA, CPFO, or Master’s degree preferred.

Salary Range

Grade 6: $75,750-$113,500
