In partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and ICMA, the National Brownfields Conference is the premier event focused on the cleanup, redevelopment, and revitalization of brownfield properties. The conference brings together over 2,000 local government leaders, environmental professionals, developers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to share innovative practices, success stories, and emerging trends that support sustainable community redevelopment.
Idea submission is open for the 2027 National Brownfields Training Conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, May 25–28. ICMA members are encouraged to contribute session ideas that motivate brownfields stakeholders to engage, learn, and share their experiences and knowledge of community revitalization challenges and solutions.
Conference Topic Areas (Tracks) Include:
- Brownfields Financing.
- Healthy and Resilient Redevelopment.
- Future Economic Trends.
- Community Engagement.
- Assessment and Cleanup Strategies.
- Tribal Brownfields Programs.
The conference offers a valuable opportunity to showcase local government leadership, exchange knowledge with peers, and advance efforts to transform underutilized properties into community assets. Share the Call for Ideas with your network and submit here before the June 12 deadline.
