Since 2010, ICMA Student Chapters have prepared the next generation of managers for success in the public sector. The Student Chapters are now teaming up with the ICMA Learning Lab to co-create a new webinar series that focuses on important topics relevant to students and local government professionals.

Results from a survey of ICMA's student chapter members show that two of the top issues on the minds of the next generation are community engagement and policy facilitation and implementation. In the third session of the Leading Into the Future Series, Turning Resident Priorities Into Policy, you’ll tackle this important topic with a panel of subject matter experts. You will discuss:

• Best practices for community engagement and how it can be used to gain insight into resident priorities
• The role of the CAO, councilmembers, and staff in turning these priorities into policy
• How to work with state and federal priorities to advance these policies
