The National Association of Counties gave the Best in Category award for Green Infrastructure to Alachua County in recognition of the county's success in integrating and leveraging local investment in land conservation. The following case study discusses the Green Infrastructure Investment Program developed through the Alachua County Forever program and the environmental protection provisions of the county's development review process.
