The city of Suwanee, Georgia was nominated to the 2005 ICMA Annual Awards Program for its Community Policing program. Facing a shortage of police and confronted with surging population, the city decided to focus on a well-trained, community-minded police force that is effective and able to build relationships with constituents. This narrative includes outcomes and lessons learned in the planning, implementing and analysis stages.
