The City of Beaumont, CA responded to the economic crisis by creating a stimulus plan centered on raising revenue despite their losses and identifying the challenges they could best address. Working with residents and local businesses the city passed a plan that would foster growth by reducing building fees and processing fees. Additionally, the program offers payment plans and low interest Redevelopment Agency loans for residents struggling to pay improvement costs. The program successfully brought in business and helped pay for up to 80% of public improvements.
