ICMA surveyed its membership in May 2025 to assess perceptions on organizational performance and the degree to which ICMA programs, products, and services are meeting the needs of its members. Approximately 2,300 members responded to a series of closed- and open-ended questions. It is worth noting that this survey was conducted during a period of transition and uncertainty. ICMA’s new executive director assumed leadership of the organization in February. At the same time, a new administration of the U.S. federal government initiated major policy changes that impacted support for local governments and organizations like ICMA.
