This is the 2010 award winning nomination for populations of less than 10,000 of the Village of Bayside, Wisconsin's Measuring Green program for the Community Sustainability Award. Village Manager Andrew K. Pederson is credited with the development of a program that sought to reduce the Village's overall carbon footprint, enhance energy efficiency, promote environmental stewardship in the community, and provide leadership in enhancing the Village's environmental concern. Between 2007 and 2009 the Village's electrical consumption was reduced by 26 percent and gas consumption by 77 percent. In total, the overall Village utility costs were reduced 21 percent.
