This is the 2010 nomination of Sandy Springs, Georgia's Vacant Property Enforcement Program (VPEP) for the Community Sustainability Award. City Manager John McDonough and Media & Communications Director Judy Parker are credited with developing a systematic inspection program to enforce codes regarding vacant properties to deter future crime.
