Career Resources

Whether you are just beginning your college career, a retired city manager, or somewhere in between the Knowledge Network has an abundance of amazing career resources for you! The resources below will help you get from where you are to where you want to be in local government.

To get an overview of all the career resources that the Knowledge Network has to offer check out the Career Resource Overview. This page has links to the job center, newsletters, reoccurring  articles, documents, guides, wikis, cast studies and more! From here you can easily find any career related resources that you are looking for.

For the latest career resources on the Knowledge Network you can go to the career resources topic page. Whenever blogs, questions, documents, articles and more are added to the Knowledge Network they are tagged with the appropriate topic tags which means that you will always find the latest resources tagged to the topic pages.

For career resources specific to your career stage you can look through the Career Stage Guide. This guide breaks down the local government career stages into student, early career professionals, mid-career manager, executive, and encore professional. There are tons of resources for every career stage that can help you enhance and transform your local government career.

If you are specifically looking for help in securing a local government job then you should head to the Job Seeker Overview. This page provides information and links on the best way to use the Jobs section of the Knowledge Network and ways in which you can both get and give support to others searching for a job on the Knowledge Network.

If your local government has developed any useful career resources place take a minute and give back by uploading them to the documents section or blogging about them so others can learn from you.
