It was 10th October 2015, within the period of beautiful Fall,

American aircraft peacefully landed to Pittsburgh. The two Asian who are the Professional fellows from YSEALI came out from the flight with the full energy to march to Scott Township within Pennsylvania State. When they are going to Luggage claim, one thing made both of them amazed. The township Manager of Scott Township and her family were waiting them with welcome banner putting their name so prominently. It became the first impression to our host community and made us too excited to spend there for four weeks full.

Dennise H. Fitzerald,47, showed how she smartly managed her family. Having 3 smart lady-children, the amazing girls are as smart as her Mom. They are polite, kind and taking care of their international guests, Su from Myanmar and Hoa from the Vietnam. Spending couple of evening during weekends we got to that Dennise is the best mother ever educating her children of fourteen, ten and eight year old to be well behaved and to have a good careers for them.

When I arrive to Township Municipal Building on Monday, to the township manager's office, I saw a smart women manager is busy by budget estimation for her township. This is Dennise again. She is doing her budget estimate by comparing with the estimated income for her township. Scott township's main income comes from Tax. Second biggest portion of this township income is grant that they applied from Federal government. That's so smart of her. Within her fourteen years of employment in Scott, she could manage to get many grants from Federal government. The cabinet full with grant project documents is the proof of her hardwork for her community. So, coming here to Scott Township is the best match with my expectiation to learn a smart local governance. As the value added, I can find how a women is leading for her community while she has perfect balance between family management and community management. I am looking forward to learn more here for four weeks.
