  • Phoenix City Manager David Cavazos’s proposed budget calls for $30 million in raises for city workers. (Daily Reporter)
  • Wes Hare, City Manager of Albany, Oregon is confident that an approximately 3% increase in the city’s budget fund will maintain services without drastic cost cutting measures and layoffs. (Democrat Herald)
  • County Administrator Richard Starks, has warned the council of Florence County, South Carolina, that their proposed budget would cut funding for 26 jobs and increase the household solid waste household fee. (SCNow)
  • Douglas County, Nevada Manager T. Michael Brown and Assistant County Manager Steve Mokrohisky worked with county staff and the commissioners to produce a balanced budget that required 12 layoffs. (Record Courier)
  • Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Manager Harry Jones proposed cutting the vast majority of indigent care funding in his fiscal 2011-12 budget. (Charlotte Business Journal)
  • Dawson County, Georgia Manager Kevin Tanner has approved a plan to redraw the county commission's districts after the 2010 census. (Gainesville Times)
