If you are attending the National League of Cities Congress of Cities Conference in Austin this week, you will see that ICMA and NLC are working together to improve local governments!   After all, shouldn't elected and appointed officials always seek ways to improve their work in building community and being the best local government leaders they can be?

 

ICMA and NLC will be co-sponsoring two workshop sessions on Wednesday, November 19.  They include:

1.  Leadership for Civic Engagement presented by Matt Leighninger, Executive Director of the Deliberative Democracy Consortium and ICMA Center for Managment Strategies leading practice service provider.

2.  Building Strong Council/City Manager Relations featuring Jim Hunt, of Amazing Cities and former NLC President and Mike Cundiff, of  Elim Consulting and ICMA Senior Advisor

 

Additionally, the leading practitioners of the Center for Management Strategies will also be presenting additional sessions at NLC including:

1. City Administration in the 21st Century  Technology, Communication and Engagement  presented by Mike Huggins, Civic Praxis and ICMA Center for Management Strategies leading practice service provider. 

2.  Collaborative Service Delivery--Making a Private-Public Sector Partnership Work featuring Susan Mays of CH2M HILL, sponsor of ICMA's Center for Management Strategies research work into collaborative service delivery. 

 

Last, but not least, ICMA will have a strong presence in the NLC Exhibit Hall featuring opportunities for you to meet with representatives of ICMA Analytics presenting ICMA's new performance management software, ICMA Insights.   ICMA's Center for Management Strategies will also be present featuring resources, organizational assessment instruments and assistance in key strategies including civic engagement, collaborative service delivery, LEAN process improvement for local governments, high performance organization strategies and priority based budgeting.  ICMA's Center for Sustainable Communities and Life Well Run will also be onsite to share quality information on their programs and services.
