During the organization’s 100th annual conference in Charlotte, N.C., September 14-17, there will be plenty of anniversary-related activities, including a commemorative video that will air during Sunday’s Opening General Session plus a “birthday party” during the Opening Reception; a special anniversary session on Tuesday afternoon, which will feature young professionals, mid-careerists, and veteran members discussing what the culture, local government, and ICMA was like “back in the day” and what all three have the potential to become in the future; and a historical gallery that will live in the Charlotte Convention Center foyer and feature photographs, memorabilia, and association artifacts.
