In what is considered America’s most caffeinated city, small-batch roasters, big-name cafes, and indie coffeehouses buzz with creative coffee creations in every flavor profile. The next time you’re hankering for a cup of joe, follow this handy guide to find a new favorite.

 

Classic
Local indie chainlet Caffe Vita sources beans direct from sustainable farmers in 11 countries. There’s the menu of single-origin options for purists, plus lush blends like the one produced with local confectionary Theo Chocolate.

Sweet

With a cozy, eclectic vibe and nice array of baked goods, Cherry Street Coffee House does sweet sips like no other. Its dreamy Milkyway tastes like the namesake candy bar in liquid form, while the Caramello is equally decadent.

Also try: The rich, velvety caramel macchiato from Starbucks and the oh-so-sweet white mocha from Dilettante

Flavored
A unique menu item, Caffe Ladro’s Medici is so much more than an average mocha. Cups of its rich, chocolate-swirled coffee sport a refreshing citrus undertone and come adorned with a curl of orange peel.
