It’s 11:36pm. Your partner finally comes home from a long work day AND a relentless council session. You can see it in their eyes. They can’t take another second of stress. But there you are, armed with a day full of problems that you need to unload on someone. And they are the only one who can fill that job. You’re caught between a rock and a hard place. What will you do? What…can…you…do?

Between two income households, not having enough hours in the day, and trying to keep up with kids’ soccer games and cheerleading camps, it’s no wonder that many times, the most important relationship we have is the one that suffers the most. But without a strong relationship with your significant other, everything else suffers. During this hour long interactive session, relationship expert Darlene Johnstone will provide ICMA members and their partners tips to managing a successful relationship, while “partner” Mark Fadden provides some insightful, and hopefully funny, “tales from the front lines” of being a city manager’s significant other.

This is an interactive session and when we say almost no topic is off limits here, we truly mean it! You will be able to ask questions & share advice.  If you can’t join us or want to ask a question but are feeling a bit shy about it, please submit it in our “Question Bucket,” located at the Partner’s Table near the exhibit hall or also available in the session.   We will also answer additional questions after the session via conference electronic media or you can post your question anonymously on the Annual Conference Blog.

Please join us for this session on Monday, October 8, 2:30PM-3:40PM in Room 120BC.
