Ok, we have all heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (and many of us have participated in it by drenching ourselves and/or making a donation for a great cause.)    The purpose of this challenge is to not only raise money for this charitable organization but to heighten awareness of the disease and the efforts of many to address it impact.

Well at the ICMA Center for Management Strategies,  we aren't looking for you to get wet or cold or to make a donation.  But, we are looking for you to help raise awareness of the great resources available to local governments through ICMA in general and through the Center for Management Strategies in particular.

All you have to do is to take a "selfie" in our booth at the ICMA Conference in Charlotte in September or with something that indicates you know about CMS--a brochure, etc.  Then tweet it to @icmscms.   By doing so, you will help to raise awareness of our mission to assist local governments increase their organizational efficiency and effectiveness.  You will also be entered into a drawing for some free ICMA webinars, so you will enhance your skills and knowledge at the same time!

So, you've all had fun and done some great charitable service through the ALS Ice Bucket Challence.   Let's have some fun with the CMS Selfie Challenge. . .and help local governments learn more about the services and products available through ICMA and its Center for Management Strategies!  You don't even have to get wet!

The ICMA Center for Management Strategies partners with the Alliance for Innovation, Arizona State University and its network of academic institutions, and a number of subject matter experts and leading practitioners to bring to local government managers the latest research, case studies, assessment tools, articles and publications to make your work to become more efficient and effective easier.  Our practice areas include the key management strategies of civic engagement, collaborative service delivery, high performance organization strategies, priority based budgeting, process improvement and surveys for data-driven decision making.  To learn more about CMS, visit our website at www.icma.org/strategies, our blog at www.icma.org/cmsblog or our Knowledge Network Group at www.icma.org/cmsgroup.
