Thanks to ICMA’s Corporate Partner, The Ferguson Group (TFG), ICMA is again able to offer the William Ferguson, Jr. Scholarship to one ICMA member to attend the 2025 Harvard Senior Executive program. The William Ferguson, Jr. Scholarship, awarded by ICMA, covers the full $17,900 program fee. Named in honor of TFG founder, William Ferguson, Jr., the scholarship was first launched in 2011.

The Harvard Senior Executive program is a unique opportunity to challenge conventional thinking, thought processes, and the values that drive leadership decisions. It’s an opportunity for senior-level city and county managers and assistants to experience personal and professional renewal. Participants step away from the daily routine for three weeks, engage their intellect and hearts with other executives in team efforts to resolve tough issues, and renew their commitment to their life’s work.

To apply for the William Ferguson, Jr. Scholarship, complete the online application. Be sure to upload the Harvard Senior Executive application and your resume when you apply. William Ferguson, Jr. Scholarship applications must be received at ICMA by January 31, 2025. The scholarship recipient needs to cover his or her own travel expenses.

The scholarship recipient can choose which session he or she would like to attend: June 2-20, 2025, or July 7-25, 2025.

A committee of ICMA members who have completed the program will select the scholarship recipient. Announcement of this year’s scholarship recipient will be made in early April.

Scholarship criteria can be found on the ICMA website, along with testimonials from past scholarship recipients.

For more information on the scholarship contact Chris Gendell, program manager, at 202/962-3651 or cgendell@icma.org
