Gerry Schapiro, deputy city manager, Rock Hill, South Carolina, and an employee of Rock Hill since 1970, where he has served his entire management career, received a 45-year service award from ICMA at its 2015 annual conference in Seattle, Washington, September 30.

Charles Graham, city manager, Frankenmuth, Michigan, since 1979, also received a 45-year service award this year. His years of service include the communities of Pueblo, Colorado, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Both of their names, along with members in four additional award categories, were inadvertently omitted from the original awards program list due to ICMA’s conversion to a new management software system this past summer. The program was distributed at the conference and published in the October issue of Public Management (PM) magazine.

Members who also received service awards are: Richard Brown, town administrator, Somerset, Massachusetts (40 years); Dan Galloway, city manager, Stillwater, Oklahoma (35 years);  Brenda Garton, county administrator, Frederick County, Virginia (30 years); and Melinda Conner, county administrator, Mathews County, Virginia (25 years).

These recipients’ names and service award levels are now part of ICMA’s permanent awards records and can be found in the 2015 awards program posted at ICMA’s website.
