Company officials from AZ Sourcing, LLC broke ground on the multi-million dollar PhoenixMart project in Casa Grande, Arizona in November. The historic groundbreaking ceremony was attended by federal and state delegates and community and business leaders from the U.S. and abroad. Speakers included former U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ), U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ), Casa Grande Mayor Bob Jackson and PhoenixMart President Jeremy Schoenfelder.

PhoenixMart is a 1.75 million square foot business-to-business sourcing center for manufacturers and distributors to showcase their products to the world by providing a gateway for promoting American business to domestic and international markets. The complex will feature more than 2,000 manufacturers and categories including: Home and Hotel, Industrial and Automotive, Electronics and Accessories, Food and Beverage, Office and Recreation, and Fashion and Variety.

“Our business model creates a platform that allows American businesses to gain exposure and visibility to other American businesses, while reaching out to other markets that before may have been difficult to reach,” said Jeremy Schoenfelder, president of PhoenixMart.

The facility and master-planned community will be located on 585 acres just east of I-10 and is expected to create more than 7,000 direct and indirect jobs in Arizona. PhoenixMart will be the newest and largest sourcing center in the United States.

“PhoenixMart will help American businesses grow and expand in this very competitive global workforce,” said former U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. “We have the entrepreneurial spirit and we have much to offer the rest of the world. This project will ensure that American businesses have a platform that will allow their products to be part of a fully integrated supply chain to meet today’s demands for quality and price, all while eliminating the layer of distribution expenses.”

The City of Casa Grande has been working with AZ Sourcing, LLC for more than 4 years to bring this new concept project to Arizona. Casa Grande Mayor Bob Jackson said, “PhoenixMart will help revitalize the local economy and enhance the quality of life of the residents in Casa Grande and the surrounding area. We thank AZ Sourcing, LLC and the PhoenixMart team for choosing our community to build this facility.”

Construction of the massive international commerce center is expected to begin in the spring of 2014 with a grand opening in the latter part of the year or early 2015.
