In an ongoing effort to promote the importance of professional managers as an integral part of a well-run local government, especially to young professionals and students, Life, Well Run has launched a guest blog feature, Emerging Views from those Next Up in #localgov. Each month, young professionals and students will share their stories and experiences.
The first two blogs were published recently:
- Miranda Lutzow, an MPA graduate and management analyst in Oakdale, California, who wrote about the career-enhancing opportunities she has found as a member of ICMA and the Municipal Management Association of Northern California.
- Students from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin who shared their top lessons from the 102nd ICMA Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
Regular bloggers will be featured each month, but guests are always welcome. If you or a colleague have a story to share about leadership, a unique local government project, survival tips and tactics, or something else that has inspired or challenged you, send an e-mail to lifewellrun@icma.org. And continue to watch the website, @lifewellrun, and the Life, Well Run Facebook page to see what those Next Up have to say.
