Congratulations to Raymond French, management analyst/ICMA Local Government Management Fellow, River Falls, Wisconsin, who submitted the correct answer (Haven A. Mason in 1899) to last month’s inaugural 100th anniversary trivia quiz!

This month we’re upping the stakes with a slightly harder question that focuses on ICMA’s internal management:

What individual, who served as assistant executive director for a lengthy period beginning in 1929, succeeded Clarence Ridley as ICMA executive director after Ridley retired?

The first member to respond with the correct answer wins an ICMA-anniversary-branded item. This month’s prize is the unique anniversary business card holder, which is co-branded with the Life, Well Run logo.

You can find the answer among the entries in the ICMA anniversary timeline, which is located at the top of the anniversary website at icma.org/anniversary. Click on any of the decades to enter.

While you’re on the anniversary website, check out “The ICMA Experience,” a collection of stories and reminiscences about the organization and the profession, as told through the words of your colleagues and friends. Then upload your own story!

To submit your response to this month’s historical trivia quiz, send an email to: anniversary@icma.org. Responses to the December 2013 question must be submitted no later than Friday, December 20. To be eligible to win, you must be an ICMA member and cannot have won in the past six months.

Good luck!
