ICMA’s year-long anniversary celebration may have closed, but interest in your experiences as an ICMA member and professional local government manager or administrator lives on!

To encourage member participation in “The ICMA Experience,” we’ve made adding your experiences to this collection much easier than before. First, take a few minutes to respond to the following questions:

• How or why did you become interested in a public service career in local government?
• What’s the best experience you’ve had during your career?
• What’s the best experience you’ve had as an ICMA member?
• Throughout your career, who have been your local government heroes, i.e., your teachers, mentors, role models, and other people who’ve inspired you most?
• If you work for an organization other than a local government, describe your experiences as a partner or collaborator with ICMA.

E-mail your responses to anniversary@icma.org and we’ll post them on “The ICMA Experience” page. Be sure to include your name, title, organization, and e-mail address. If you'd like to include other media (i.e., a photogragh or video) with  your responses, attach it to your e-mail. The deadline to submit content to "The ICMA Experience" and to be eligible for prizes has been extended to February 13! Anyone (members, strategic partners, nonmember local government staff) is welcome to submit an entry to “The ICMA Experience” at any time. If, however, you are an ICMA member, and you submit your responses to the questions above before February 13, you'll be entered to win one of a number of valuable anniversary-branded prizes!
