Google announced the City of Beverly Hills has been named the 2015 eCity of California. The eCity Awards recognize the strongest online business community in each state - the digital capitals of America. These cities’ businesses are embracing the web to find new customers, connect with existing clients and fuel their local economies.

“We are very pleased and honored that the City of Beverly Hills is the recipient of the 2015 Google eCity Award,” says David Schirmer, Chief Information Officer for the City of Beverly Hills.”

Todd Johnson, Executive Director for the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, says, “The Chamber is pleased to partner with the City of Beverly Hills on programs to benefit small businesses in our community.  The Google eCity Award is a testament to those programs helping our local businesses succeed.”

Google’s congratulation announcement reads, “Known for its glitzy shopping, Beverly Hills is home to everything from the most expensive store in the world to an ATM that dispenses fresh cupcakes. But it's also tech savvy. The city's website offers over 20 different online services, from paying bills to getting building permits.”

Google uses an independent firm to analyze the online strength of local small businesses in cities in all fifty states and Beverly Hills is among the ranks of America’s leading cities in the digital economy.
