5k Run/Walk

It was a perfect morning for a race at the Tempe Town Lake. The 5k run was an out and back route at Giuliano Park, the site of the 1st ICMA Conference 5k race in 1979. Congratulations to all the runners and special thanks to the Host Committee for organizing this fun networking event.

Golf Tournament

The ICMA golf tournament held Sunday, October 7 at the TPC Scottsdale Champions course was a big success. Volunteer Tournament Coordinator Tim Pickering of Interim Public Management reported that 102 golfers participated in the event, the largest turnout in years. The Winning Team

The Potomac Way,  included Aretha Ferrel-Benavides, Dallas, TX; Ted Benavides, executive in residence, University of Texas, Dallas, TX; Michael Hermanson, and Gary Helm who shot an incredible 17 under to win the tournament. 

Second Place

Shooting an impressive 13 under were the "AYYYY Players" team consisting of Clarence Joly, Edson, CA; Kelly Kloss, CM, Fort Saskatchewan, Canada; Gary Sandberg, exec. dir., Alberta Municipal Affairs, Edmonton, Canada; and Kevin Stephenson, CAO, Newell County, Canada. 

Third Place

The Tennessee Walker Dawg team shot 12 under, the team consisted of Angie Carrier, dev. servs. dir., Johnson City, TN; Scott Hutchison, James Crumley, ACM, Murfreesboro, TN; and Brian Johnson.
