Executive board members

The ICMA Executive Board held its quarterly meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 6-7, 2025, and took the following actions:

  • Adopted ICMA’s FY 2026 budget. The board reviewed and adopted ICMA’s FY 2026 budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1, 2025. The FY 2026 budget works hard to close the gap between revenues and ongoing expenses, reshaping the organization to provide a more sustainable starting point for future budgets. The FY 2026 budget priorities include an investment in programs and services for members, support for local government professionals, fiscal stability, global engagement, and strategic planning that aligns the board’s vision with operational priorities.

  • Approved 2030 and 2031 annual conference locations. The board approved the location for ICMA’s Annual Conference in 2030 and 2031. The conference locations will be announced when agreements with the host communities are finalized.

  • Selected the 2025 recipients of ICMA’s Distinguished Service Award. The five individuals selected for ICMA’s highest honor will receive recognition at the ICMA Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida.

  • Approved granting Life memberships. In recognition of their contributions to ICMA and the local government profession, the board approved granting Life memberships in ICMA to Troy Brown and Anton “Tony” Gardner.

  • Approved recommendations from the Governance Task Force. The board approved parts of the recommended changes to the governance structure and will continue their discussion on further recommendations at the next virtual board meeting in July.

  • Selected Andy Pederson to serve as ICMA's 2025-2026 president-elect. The board interviewed Andy Pederson, village manager of Bayside, Wisconsin, along with three other candidates.  Pederson was selected to serve as ICMA’s 2025-2026 president-elect. He will join the ICMA Executive Board in October 2025 and will officially become ICMA’s 2026-2027 president at the 2026 ICMA Annual Conference in Long Beach, California.
