ICMA Executive Director Bob O’Neill will join leaders from top state and local government associations to examine the “issues that are driving the nation’s policy agenda” as part of Outlook 2015: State & Local Market Forecast, an annual event sponsored by Governing magazine.

Featuring state and local government thought leaders and a team of Governing editors, reporters, and analysts, Outlook 2015 will focus on the critical issues that will drive public-sector strategies in the coming year. The event takes place February 3-4, 2015, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and will provide attendees with tools they can use to develop their 2015 state or local government strategies, including:

  • Market forecast: economic projections, budget and spending
  • Insider’s look at the 2014 election and its impact
  • Trends and issues defining the market
  • Research and analysis on key factors driving business opportunities.

During the “State and Local Matters Now” panel discussion at 9:45 a.m. on February 3, O'Neill will discuss topics relevant to local government, including performance measurement and shared services. He will be joined by:

  • David Adkins, executive director/CEO, The Council of State Governments
  • Clarence Anthony, executive director, National League of Cities
  • Dan Crippen, executive director, National Governors Association
  • Riki Hokama, president, National Association of Counties
  • William T. Pound, executive director, National Conference of State Legislatures.

To correspond with Outlook 2015, ICMA has developed a webpage of resources related to forward-looking initiatives (such as performance management and sustainability) and other topics that will have an impact on local government.
