When it comes to family-friendly cities, Allen is now the best in the nation. The new ranking by Apartment List considers the safety, housing cost, school quality and overall child friendliness of nearly 500 American cities. Allen scored 96% or above on every metric and earned the highest education score of any city on the list.

Allen also ranked higher than other Collin County cities, including Frisco (#4) and McKinney (#6). Cities in Indiana and California rounded out the top five.

This is not Allen’s first appearance in the Apartment List rankings. In 2015 the city was ranked #2.
