Salary Range: $131,060 to $163,945 (Hiring Range: $131,060 to $139,734)

Job Summary: The Community Development Director provides leadership and oversight for the City’s community development, planning, economic development, parks and recreation, building inspection, code enforcement, and GIS functions. The position leads department operations and staff, administers budgets, oversees land use and development activities, supports City boards and commissions, and works closely with residents, businesses, developers, and other government agencies. The Director also serves as the City’s Zoning Administrator and plays a key role in advancing the City’s long-term growth and development goals.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field with coursework in urban planning and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning and economic development, including supervisory responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. A master’s degree in a related field, economic development certification, and AICP designation are preferred.
