The Village of Homer Glen, IL (24,591), located 25 miles southwest of Chicago in Will County, is seeking candidates to serve as its next Village Manager. Incorporated in 2001, Homer Glen comprises approximately 22 square miles. The Village is a blend of open space, beautiful residential developments and commercial corridors with significant commercial growth potential. The Village does not levy a municipal property tax and has an annual budget of $30 million, of which approximately $9 million supports Village operations. Most municipal services are contracted out or are performed by separate taxing districts. The Village has 18 full-time employees. The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership skills and a collaborative, team oriented management style. A proven record in effective service delivery and creative problem solving is required.
Candidates must have prior local government management experience, with a strong background in economic development, infrastructure development and financial management. Position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field. A Master’s degree in public administration is strongly preferred. Residency is not required. The starting salary is up to $155,000 based on qualifications and experience. The Village also offers excellent benefits.
