Transit Data Analyst (Analyst II)

The Transit Services Division contracts more than 90% of its activities to outside vendors to provide effective and efficient public transportation services to the community. This position plays a key role in contract compliance and data analysis for a variety of contracts and programs for transit services.

Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Gather ridership and performance data for various transit services
Retrieve data from Automatic Passenger Counters, Automatic Vehicle Location systems, GFI fare boxes, and other sources
Develop existing data collection instruments and methodologies for improved efficiency or accuracy
Ensure data integrity; research and correct causes of inconsistencies
Perform database management and organization of public transit data
Provide statistical information and report analysis of public transit data
Collect, evaluate, and interpret information and data; review and analyze technical documents and proposals
Respond to data requests promptly and accurately for internal queries and those of local, state, and federal agencies
Develop, maintain, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports for internal, local, state, and federal agencies such as the Federal Transit Administration and the National Transit Database
Ensure requirements are met and documents are submitted for continued eligibility for grant funding, including Title VI regulations
Maintain and update the Transit Asset Management Plan
Provide current detailed Geographic Information Systems data maps for a variety of purposes including Trapeze software base mapping, bus stop inventory, display-quality route maps, and demographic representations
Act as an independent review and evaluation body; ensure compliance concerns are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved
Develop and present complex data in an accessible and understandable manner
Support special projects and research transit related topics as needed
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

Knowledge of:
Standard professional practices of contract compliance and auditing processes
Methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation
Principles and practices of transportation or public transit planning activities
Transit-specific software systems and applications such as Trapeze
National Transit Database and Federal Transit Administration reporting requirements
Ability to:
Participate in various organizational studies and analyses
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Successful candidate will have:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in finance, business administration, public administration, procurement, or other research-intensive field
Three years of full-time professional analytical experience performing analytics based on GIS information
Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Ideal candidates will also have:
Transit or urban planning experience
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Additional Information:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with some travel from site to site and possible exposure to inclement weather.
