This position directs the activities of the City's Purchasing Department consisting of 24 employees in Purchasing, Warehouse, Graphics and Mailroom functions. The Purchasing Director is a managerial position in the Administrative Services Division and reports to the Assistant City Manager.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Materials Management, Procurement from and accredited institution. Minimum of five years progressively responsible management-level experience in purchasing including experience supervising both professional and clerical staff. An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Certifications: Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
