The Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department serves the community by creating a high performing workforce of engaged employees that are trained and motivated to provide the highest level of customer service. The Department accomplishes this by providing services related to Employee Relations, Employment Services, Benefits Administration, Administrative Support and Organization Development and Training. We provide managers and supervisors with the tools they need to lead our workforce effectively, fairly and efficiently.
The City of Santa Rosa is located just 55 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles east of the Pacific Ocean with a population of approximately 170,000. This is an advanced journey-level classification that is responsible for a wide range of the most complex human resources activities. This classification has responsibility for analyzing, organizing, and implementing initiatives related to the program area(s) assigned. The effective performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment in analyzing complex programs, and formulate important recommendations with far-reaching consequences. This class is distinguished from the Human Resources/Risk Management Analyst classes by its responsibility for administering one or more programs, handling the more difficult assignments, and providing first-line supervision to professional, technical and/or support staff.
