Summary

The Town of Bluffton, South Carolina is currently seeking a highly motivated and innovative law enforcement leader to serve as Police Captain. The next Town of Bluffton Captain will project the proper balance of confidence and humility and will lead by example with the utmost of integrity. He/She will motivate police department staff to demand that all department officers live up to the moniker of being "Bluffton's Finest" who are committed to excellence and to providing outstanding service to the public whom they serve. In doing so, he/she will demand accountability of his/her officers for their conduct and performance. The Captain will also ensure the police department remains fully integrated with Town operations as a member of the Police Department's Command Staff.

The next Bluffton Police Department Captain will also be an excellent communicator and representative of the Town of Bluffton, who is comfortable speaking and making presentations before Mayor, Town Council and the public. The Captain is expected to foster relationships and work hard to make them stronger. He/She will spend time with department employees and in the community making new contacts and will strive for continued improvement to the efficiency of operations and delivery of service.
