SUMMARY: Works to improve neighborhood conditions through management of neighborhood programming, assessing quality and efficiency of current Community Development programs and providing customer service to neighborhood residents. May provide supervision and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing neighborhood enhancement services within the department; manages multiple contracts in relation to neighborhood improvement efforts; serves as a liaison between neighborhood groups and the City Community Development Department; and works with other City Departments and organizations to coordinate programs and services that will revitalize neighborhoods.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Public Administration, Planning, or related field; valid State Driver's License; and two to three years progressively responsible related experience required. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, considered.
IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES: Knowledge of operations, services and activities of a code enforcement program; applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules and regulations; investigative procedures, methods and techniques; recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; administrative principles and practices, including goal setting and implementation; and all computer applications including hardware and software related to performance of the essential functions of the job.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust. Working conditions are typically moderately quiet, but may be moderately loud at times.
