The Information Technology Manager assumes responsibility for and oversight of all information technology for the City; supervises and coordinates projects for data networks including development and implementation of strategic and operational plans and budget management; building and maintaining network infrastructures, providing internet access, installing and implementing email systems, problem solving data accessing for departments and overseeing security to systems; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs related duties as assigned. The Information Technology Division is organizationally located in the City Manager’s Department. This position reports directly to City Management while supervising a staff of one full-time IT Analyst and one part-time contract media specialist.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree can be substituted with ten or more years of increasingly responsible information technology work experience with at least five years at a management level. A Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible information technology experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
License; Certificates; Special Requirements: A valid Class C California driver’s license. Work may be required on evenings, weekends and holidays. Position may require on-call status during non-office hours for emergencies.
