The HR Director will lead the HR department of approximately 55 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million. The position is the most senior in the department and provides HR consultations and recommendations to the County Manager, the Executive Team, directors of other County and internal support departments, and the BOCC. As Mecklenburg County strives to be a high performing organization with a dedicated, diverse, knowledgeable, and experienced staff, the HR Director is charged with execution of the HR Department’s strategic plan which focuses on the following impactful goals:
Implementing a holistic and integrated talent management approach for the County
Continuing to improve the physical and mental health and wellness of County employees
Maintaining environmental sustainability of operations
The Human Resources Director reports directly to the Assistant County Manager/Chief of Staff. The position’s direct reports include several HR Managers of varying levels who provide oversight of the specialized functional teams mentioned above.
