The City of St. Charles, IL, is seeking applicants for the position of Economic Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating all economic development functions for the City of St. Charles. Reporting to the Director of Community & Economic Development, the primary emphasis of this position is to enhance the economic vitality of the City through implementation and administration of programs, initiatives, and economic incentives to attract new businesses and encourage expansion and retention of existing businesses.
The City is seeking applicants with 3-5 years of relevant experience (preferably in a municipality or similar organization). Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Urban Planning, related field required (Master’s degree preferred). Certification with the International Economic Development Council (CECD) or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) a plus. Applicants must possess the ability to exercise independent professional judgment, analyzing problems, making decisions, and recommending solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and ability to learn additional software expected. Evening meeting attendance required. Salary Range: $61,000 - $87,000 with starting salary commensurate with experience.
