Summary

Forest Park, OH (18,000 residents-7500 households-450 businesses) - The City of Forest Park is accepting applications for the position of City Manager. Salary range ($131,372 to $182,650) DOQ/E with excellent fringe benefits. The current city manager is retiring after more than 30 years of service with this politically stable community. Forest Park is home to the award-winning Kemper Meadow Business Center and has seen over $70 million of investment since 2012 and the creation of over 2,700 jobs. This largely developed community is focused on future redevelopment and is strategically located along the western I-275 beltway, 20 miles north of Cincinnati.

The City Manager (CM) is the chief executive officer of the City, responsible to the 7-member city council and oversees, directs, and coordinates all activities of this full-service community and its 150+ employees. The CM is responsible for the development and implementation of the city’s annual $30 million budget.

Forest Park City Council wishes to attract a candidate who has demonstrated an effective, proactive, confident and bold management style. An individual with a proven track record of managing a community of similar size and character is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of a 4-year degree in public administration, public finance or a related field plus at least 10 years of progressively responsible local government experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Residency will be preferred for the selected candidate with relocation assistance being negotiable.
