City Administrator, Carlisle, Iowa. (2016 Est. Population – 4,249). Progressive community in Des Moines metropolitan area is seeking an energetic leader for the position of city administrator.

Salary range is $85,000 to $100,000, depending upon qualifications, with full range of benefits. The city administrator directly oversees or works with all municipal departments, including city hall, water, wastewater, electric utility, garbage collection, ambulance service, fire, building inspections, cemetery, community center, streets, parks & recreation, police, library, building, zoning, and finance, which includes 25 full time employees and an annual operating budget of $6.8 million. The FY18-19 city budget also includes $1.3 million in capital projects.

The city administrator is also responsible for supervision of contracts, oversight of city property, management of capital improvement projects, and keeping the five member city council and mayor fully advised of the city’s financial condition and overall future needs.

Prefer four year college degree in public or business administration or related field and four or more years of experience in a public sector management position. ICMA credential preferred. Residency requirement is in effect.
