Springdale, OH (11,220 residential – 30,000 daytime workforce) - The City of Springdale is accepting applications for the position of City Administrator. Salary range ($127,066 to $181,705) DOQ/E with excellent fringe benefits. In addition to the largest retail business district in the Tri-State, Springdale has over two million square feet of Class A office space and over three million square feet of light manufacturing. Springdale is a progressive, quality-oriented community located along the I-275 beltway at the I-75/I-275 interchange, 20 miles north of Cincinnati.

The City Administrator (CA) is the chief administrative officer of the City appointed by a directly elected Mayor who serves as the City’s chief executive officer. The CA is responsible for the day-to-day management of City operations and exercises line authority over the City’s various departments. The CA is responsible for the preparation and administration of the City’s annual budget and aids the Mayor and City Council with the formulation of City policy.

The City Charter states that the “City Administrator shall be chosen by the Mayor solely on the basis of special knowledge or training in the duties set forth; actual municipal administrative experience; and demonstrated administrative qualifications.” The Charter also prohibits the CA from using his/her official authority or influence for the purpose of engaging in political activities.

A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, city planning or a related field and at least five years of progressive public-sector management experience. A graduate degree in public administration or a related field and ICMA Credentials are preferred.
