The successful candidate must be passionate about public service, highly responsive to customer needs, focused, adaptable, and flexible, operate as a working team leader who fully understands the County’s IT operations, and can fill in for staff as needed. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, with a sense of vision for how the IT Department can help advance the County’s strategic goals and objectives. Candidates should have the ability to perform technical research, write clear and concise reports, and possess exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of operating systems and software, system design and analysis, management information systems and networking, Microsoft operating systems on servers and workstations, VOIP telephonic systems, and multi-function printers. Have the ability to administer and manage multiple technical programs and projects simultaneously, conduct needs assessments, and establish and control project workflow through to completion. Demonstrate experience in troubleshooting complex information system problems and developing prioritized solutions, working under, and adjusting to time constraints and strict schedules will be a plus.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or other quantitative undergraduate discipline and Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in information technology, with three (3) years of direct personnel management, at least three (3) of which are in a senior leadership role, or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certification as Government Chief Information Officer preferred. Requires a valid State Driver’s License.
The salary range for this position is $94,952 - $144,482. While the starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience, it is anticipated to be $135,000. The County provides a comprehensive benefits program and participates in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). This position is part of the FRS Regular Class and has a 3% employee contribution requirement. Voluntary supplemental 457 deferred compensation retirement is also available.
