Edmond’s City Manager serves as Chief Administrative Officer of the City and is responsible for oversight of the City’s municipal operations and leadership of approximately 800 full time and 40 part time employees. The Edmond City Council seeks in the new City Manager an energetic, accomplished leader with a strong work record and proven interpersonal and communication abilities to successfully work in concert with the Mayor and City Council and professional staff members to achieve identified strategic goals and objectives to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and expanding community. The successful candidate will understand that land use and planning issues are significant in Edmond and will bring to the position the knowledge and skills required to contribute in these important areas. The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a related field with a Master’s degree preferred, accompanied by at least five to seven years of municipal management experience as a City Manager or Assistant in a similar vibrant, mid-level city (or an equivalent executive position). Evidence of continuing professional development is also required.
